Those who enjoy getting the gardening tools out could make outdoor smoking areas at their workplace far more pleasant with a large planter, one commentator has said.
Writing for the Daily Telegraph, Helen Yemm suggested that a livestock drinking trough was a relatively cheap, easily maintained and “surprisingly good-looking” idea for a container.
If gardening enthusiasts are unable to find one of these, the expert noted that planters should be around 6.5 ft long with a depth of at least 20 inches.
As for what to cultivate in the pot, she advised that flowering evergreen species that are tough and have “interesting leaves” are a good low-maintenance option.
