Wickes has been ranked second in Verdict’s Consumer Satisfaction Awards for the DIY sector.
The home improvement store came top in the quality category for its products and services, an achievement which managing director of Wickes Jeremy Bird says he is "delighted" to see.
Last year Wickes topped the poll of the five biggest DIY stores but Mr Birds states he is "proud" that the store has managed to come second during the economic downturn.
Under the report, Wickes was assessed on its customer loyalty, conversion rates, main users and visitors.
"Our customers are recognising the real improvements we’ve made and our advertising campaigns, which were specifically designed to tell customers about our great quality, have clearly worked very well," Mr Bird asserts.
He adds that to come first in quality is "remarkable" considering it is an own brand retailer.
Over 6,000 products are contained within the Wickes range, with more than 3,500 of these available through its website.
